From the recording RIVERS - from the Congo to the Mississippi
Always a favorite during Siama's live shows, Malembe is an upbeat soukous song in Swahili. "Malembe" means step-by-step or we'll get there when we get there.
In this one, Siama's telling his sweetheart to take it easy and not to worry. He says, "We'll get the life we want later. We'll have cute kids and we'll take them to Africa to feel the dirt and taste the food. But meanwhile, let's relax and enjoy life".
Musicians: Siama (guitar and vocals), Joe Savage (pedal steel), Zac Harris (guitar), Greg Schutte (drums), Tony Axtell (bass), Brian Ziemniak (Steinway grand piano), Dallas Johnson (vocals)
